We do not operate or personally conduct these tours, hold no bookings and run no vehicles. Why this site exists
Search for Hokkaido tours and the first page is almost entirely multi-day escorted packages sold by international operators, plus aggregator listings. Both are legitimate products. Neither answers the question most people arrive with, which is: I have four nights in Sapporo, what can I actually book for Tuesday, and what will it really cost me once I am standing at the gate?
That second number is the one that goes missing. Six of the nine tours compared here exclude lunch. Three of them visit an attraction whose ticket you buy on arrival, in cash, 1,000 yen at Asahiyama Zoo, 800 yen at Shikisai-no-Oka, 1,000 yen at the Hill of the Buddha, and the Hill of the Buddha takes 1,000-yen notes only. A $46 tour and a $48 tour can be twenty dollars apart by the end of the day.
So can a date. Farm Tomita's lavender peaks between 12 and 22 July and is cut by mid-August; the gate onto the Cape Kamui trail runs 10:00 to 15:00 from December to March and closes in bad weather; boats have not entered the Otaru Blue Cave since a rockfall in July 2025. None of that is secret, it is in the operators' own small print, in official tourism information and in recent reviews. Putting it next to the price is the whole job of this site.
What we do and do not do
We read the listings, the official visitor information for each attraction, and the traveller reviews underneath each tour, and we write down what they say, including the parts that make a tour look worse. We publish the operator's name, the booking platform and the product ID on every tour page so you can check our reading against the source.
We are not a tour operator, a travel agency or a seller of travel. We have no office in Hokkaido, no guides, no vehicles and no staff in Japan. Nothing on this site is written as though someone from here was standing at the gate, dated checks are checks of listings and official sources, and they are labelled as such.
Booking, payment, changes, refunds and customer service all happen on the booking platform, under the operator's terms. If a tour goes wrong, they are who you deal with.
How this is kept current
Prices, ratings and review counts are read from the listings and stamped with the month they were read: at the time of writing, August 2026. Entry fees, opening hours and seasonal windows are verified against official tourism information and recent visitor reports, and carry the same date stamp.
Hokkaido changes faster than most destinations we could have picked. Attraction fees moved in 2026 at Shikisai-no-Oka. Asahiyama Zoo runs four different opening schedules across the year and closes twice for changeover. Whole itineraries switch on dates, the H.I.S. coach publishes three of them, keyed to 9 August and 31 October. How the site earns
Through affiliate commission. If you book through a link here, the platform may pay us a commission at no additional cost to you, you pay exactly what you would pay going to the platform directly. The practical consequence you should know about: every tour compared here is one that carries an affiliate programme. That is a real limit on the catalog, and it is stated plainly on the methodology page rather than buried.
